We use cutting edge research and the latest piloting techniques to develop our papers, which are extensively tested before they go live to ensure quality and that they meet our rigorous diversity and equality policy.

So what do we actually do?

Research & Development

We conduct academic and market research to provide qualifications which respond to the needs of markets and individuals and are piloted with academic rigour.

Assessment Production

We produce examination papers - we write them, using a team of highly experienced subject specialist writers, edit them, review them, print them and send them through secure means to our examination centres in the EU and beyond.

Assessment Management

Our Chief Examiner oversees all aspects of the assessment, from visiting, training and approving examination centres, to training examiners and assessors, meeting the needs of candidates that require reasonable adjustments due to disability or other special consideration, the marking of papers and their moderation, and feeding all this back into the research and development and assessment production process.

Quality Assurance & Verification

Just as our examiners mark your work, our Quality Assurance and Assessment Division examines our work. All aspects of the Board’s operations are scrutinised to ensure that they comply with the requirements of Ofqual (our regulators) as well as our own robust Quality Assurance requirements.

Customer Services & Administration

Liaising promptly and courteously with our clients – candidates, examination centres, companies, trade associations, other examination boards, even governments. Sometimes they handle a complaint, at other times a compliment. Whatever the needs of our clients and partners, this division will provide clarity.

Awarding Qualifications

Candidates take our qualifications in order to gain a valuable qualification: whether it is to enter university in an English speaking country or onto an English speaking course, to prove to their employer that they have the language skills to succeed in their current, or a future, job, or just for fun. We therefore hold formal Awards Boards where we scrutinise all the marks, consider Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations in making our decisions, and ensure fairness prevails in the qualifications we have pleasure in awarding to our candidates.

Hearing Appeals, Malpractice, Complaints, and Enhanced Means Panels

Fairness and transparency are key in all our operations; therefore we also hold special panel meetings at the request of candidates, centres, or colleagues. For more information, please see the Hearing Appeals, Malpractice, Complaints, and Enhanced Means Panels section.

So a lot goes into making the University of East London Global Examinations Board, researching, developing, producing, managing, servicing, awarding our qualifications and assuring the quality of them.

Our most important job, however, is ensuring that the experience of our candidates is a fair, positive and enjoyable one. This is because, simply, when a candidate is relaxed and happy, they will perform at their best. We are here to give you that opportunity – and the many opportunities that our qualifications will afford you.
